Thoughts in The Night - Laurie
She woke when he started mumbling and becoming restless in his sleep. The nightmares usually came around the anniversary of "Unification Day". It bothered her that he was still so troubled by it. She stood among the bodies and saw first-hand what the devastation looked like. Those were images she could never erase from her mind. But even so, she didn't have the nightmares; not like he did.
On the flight back from Karnak, he had cried over the fact that he and Rorschach had been too late. They had tried so hard and failed. And that failure cost the lives of millions. How did one get over that? Then added to that, they couldn't find Jon or Ror

Thoughts in The Night - Adrian
It was dark. He didn’t know where he was. He seemed to be running through a maze of alleyways. It kind of reminded him of his days as a masked vigilante when he ran down alleyways chasing criminals. Only this time, he was the one being chased. He could hear the cries of the mob behind him. The fact that they were carrying pitchforks and flaming torches would be extremely funny if he wasn’t so terrified.
“Nothing ever ends.” Jon’s last words echoed in his head as he ran helter skelter through the alleyways. He could swear he heard the Comedian’s laugh bouncing off the walls. Somehow he managed to r

Thoughts in The Night - Eddie
Eddie walked into his apartment and slumped onto the couch. The banquet had gone very well, until he came face to face with Laurie. God, she looked just like Sally when she was that age! And she had her mother's temper too. She brought up the attempted rape and threw her drink in his face. The blue man took her away shortly after that. He never got a chance to explain to her. Never got to tell her the truth.
Yeah, he had once attempted to rape Sally. But he couldn't help himself. He was young, pig-headed, and absolutely crazy for the woman. The only difference between then and now was that he was no longer young. And in his older

Thoughts in The Night - Dan
The patrol was a rough one tonight. Dan lost count of how many they took down and left for the cops. It left them both rather worn out. Rorschach sat on the couch, while Dan busied himself in the kitchen, making coffee and sandwiches. He filled two cups and set them on a tray, along with a rather large mound of sugar cubes. He set the plates next to the cups.
He carried the tray into the living room and was about the say something when he noticed that Rorschach was curled up in a ball on the couch, breathing softly. He had been staying after patrol more often over the past year. He usually slept a few hours on the couch and then was o

He quietly slipped through the window and landed lightly on the floor. He shut the window and locked it. He’d have to talk to Daniel about leaving windows unlocked. He moved toward the stairs, keeping an ear out for any sounds that indicated that Daniel was awake. He slowly made his way up; stepping only on the edge of each step to avoid squeaking. He didn’t want to wake Daniel. Didn’t want to have to explain why he was in his partner’s house during “off hours”.
He opened the bedroom door just enough to slip through. Daniel was still asleep, lying on his stomach, face turned toward him. He looked s
“Hello, Mr. Kovacs.”
Nobody ever called me Mr. Kovacs. People called me many names; Terror of the Night, Rorschach, Kovacs, Whoreson, Ugly Little Bastard, Walter, You, but never Mr. Kovacs. I wondered if maybe I was hearing things. Considering all that had happened the last couple of days, it was very possible that I hallucinated the words. My eyes were still closed, and I could feel the ground under my back. There was light on my face; I could see it through my eye lids. Something wasn't right. There had been a flash of blue light and a brief moment of intense pain. Like I was being ripped inside-out. I remembered that,
“Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon. That has always been the difference between us, Daniel.”
I looked at him, waiting for him to say something. Waiting for him to join me. I silently begged him to come with me. To help me tell the world what Veidt had done. Please don't desert me again, Daniel. I knew he couldn't see the pleading in my eyes, but I still hoped he would somehow feel it and follow. But he didn't. He just stood there staring sadly at me. Disappointed, I adjusted my collar and walked out into the snow.
I hadn't gotten very far when I saw Dr. Manhattan, standing between me and the Owlship.
Daniel woke suddenly, his heart rate elevated just slightly as if he had woken from a nightmare. Only he hadn’t. Fumbling for his glasses, he looked at the clock. It was just a little after three in the morning. Strange. He usually didn’t wake up in the middle of the night. He wasn’t sure what woke him, till he heard it. A soft sound of movement downstairs. The sound of someone trying to not wake him.
Daniel quietly slipped out of bed, struggling to put on a pair of underwear and trousers in the dark. One thing he did NOT want to do was to confront a burglar wearing nothing but a bathrobe. He paused from time to t
It was three in the morning and the light in the lab was on. Kowalski stood next to a table covered with parts and wires and an odd assortment of unidentifiable things. His lab coat was draped over a chair, and his sleeves were rolled up to just below the elbows.
Kowalski rubbed his eyes. He yawned and stretched, then shook his head to clear it. He knew it was late, but he couldn't stop now. He kept telling himself, five more minutes.
Skipper stood in the doorway of the lab, his eyes raking over the taller man's slender form. Most people thought Kowalski was just skin and bones, but Skipper knew different. Kowalski was slim, but his muscles
The three were safely aboard Archie, as the airship pulled up and away from Sing Sing. Daniel and Laurie sat in the front seats, breathing hard as the adrenaline started to go down. Rorschach seemed completely unaffected by what just happened. As he leaned against the bulkhead of the ship, one wouldn't have known that he had just barely escaped from a prison riot. A riot he had started when he had killed one of the other prisoners. Granted, he killed the man in self-defense, but the others didn't see it that way. Not that Rorschach cared.
He reached into the pocket of his prison uniform and pulled out a small green object. He slowly u

Hmm.  So apparently submitting a fanfic to the fanfic category is incorrect.  I have to submit it to the correct category.  So fanfics don't go in fanfics.  Good to know.  But, you know what....I'm just not going to bother submitting anything to that group again.  There's another group that's cool with you submitting fanfics to the fanfic category.
